Wow Wow Weeeee.

I saw a brilliant film last night from SeeFilm First.

I liked it sooo much I googled it again. Never before have I observed an average family to be so interesting. Average I mean by, painful teenagers, coming of age, sibling favoritism's, getting old and then bereavement.

At first, I thought it was a reverse effect of American Beautiful. Where in this film there don't hide there feelings or pretend to be someone else.

But then the more I think of the film the more I'm thinking of Caché by Michael Haneke (God, help me or God help that film.)
Personally, I'm not much of a Caché fan. Possibly because of the theories about the under linning interpretation of the Algerian conflict with France. Actually, its not that at all. Its because I hated the characters in Caché, yes all of them and even the boy. Blah!

Which makes me like "The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life" even more. Because for me it is exactly the opposite of Caché family. I like it because the Duval family expose issues openly and deal with it openly. It was beautiful, charming and well documented piece.

Hopeful, it'll make it through and kick Haneke off.

Screenwriting CMW3002

So I'm writing about a mans Transition from a man to a Phoenix Bird. A Reincarnation.

In order to help me write the description of the bird, I thought the best way to do this was to draw the bird.
Only, it didn't come out a a Phoenix. I find it frustrating for me when drawing. Because it seems only my brain only seems to want to draw something else, never what I visualise in mind.

So instead, I drew a doodoo / Peacock whatever it was , it was not what I want it to be - a Phoenix!

Location for Dream

Word of mouth about this place.

Its kind of what I visualised; A unfinished room that shows bare brick walls and no flooring.

Ada Street.

Proposal

Proposal:

When you woke up this morning, did you wonder about your dream? Did you meet someone in your dream that had such a impact from you when you woke up that it changed your perception in life right now? Right now, right at this minute. Caitlin sits inside someone else’s dream; A little girls dream. Being forced to sit inside someone’s dream, Caitlin hopes to pass dream quickly. Making little conversations that later reveals the real truth why they are both here. A Psychological, Magical Realism, tells a tale of relationship between Mother and Daughter. Only a meaningless dream that reveals Caitlin’s conscience in reality. Yet a true wake up call for her denial life in reality…

Initial Plan:
A short film with a 7-minute duration.
I am to aim this film to audiences between the ages of 18 and onwards and to be females. The reason for this is that it reveals how relationship of mothers and daughters can be misunderstood. The twist with Caitlin and little girl communicating is the contrast of Caitlin’s relationship with her mother in real life.

The Birth of a New Idea.

My style of film making and writing has always based on the reality but set in a surrealist atmosphere.

Such topics include:

Schzophrenia a mental illness or a spritiual issue?

Reincarnation and the Metaphysical beliefs.

My next is our Physche in dreams. What are they telling us? Place that with a story about relationships between Mothers and Daughters. BANG!!!! I got one:

When you woke up this morning, did you wonder about your dream? Did you meet someone in your dream that had such a impact from you when you woke up that it changed your perception in life right now? Right now, right at this minute. Caitlin sits inside someone else’s dream; A little girls dream. Being forced to sit inside someone’s dream, Caitlin hopes to pass dream quickly. Making little conversations that later reveals the real truth why they are both here. A Psychological, Magical Realism, tells a tale of relationship between Mother and Daughter. Writing from Home.

I have been thinking of the amount of people that have written, pitched, made a film about the bond of Mother and Daughter lately. Its all known how powerful a bond of a Mother and child can be. Whether its some kind of invisible cord made by a Planceta that makes this so strong and unconditional.

Yet, I never have written one or even thought to write one. Yeh, you may read and think so what? why should this bother you? I think it should, because I am myself a mother of two children. From the minute I wake up, forget the toilet routine. Its the kids room I want to see to first. And before I go to bed, I want to see their sleepy faces (oh how angelic beautiful children look when they asleep. ) Their bodies twisted against the blankets BUT never on top of them. If anything, I am a proud big headed mother. I believe I have done well, taught them to express freely. Encourage them to be the top dog, yet if it all fails remind them that Practice make perfect. I can go on and on about this, and to think deeply of my bond with my children has already created a lump in my throat.
So the question is now, Kat so why haven't you written anything about it? For me the bond is so powerful, I wasn't ready to write about it. I raised my kids full time for their first 4 years. And remembering how unsociable I was when back to the real word. Honestly whoever I met it was, My kids, My son, My Daughter and Calpol - Strawberry flavour. Then coming back home thinking, "get a grip, those other people life does not evolve around children" I wanted to write and make films about other peoples lives and understand their state of mind. And also, making a film based upon the bond of a mother and child was too close to home.

But I'm ready now.

And another example of theme.

Yellow Bird By Jesse Wallace.

Although this one seems to be more complicated. if you read the Making of on the bottom on the link's page and Plus on IMBD there was 3 time as much crew compared to Pudding Bowl.

Simple Storyline with a dramatised Visual Effect: PUDDING BOWL By Vanessa Caswell.

Simple. YES IT'S THAT WORD AGAIN!!!

Yes.

So here is my plan in sowing this little seed. ( And No, I am not a Farmville addict)

Things I must do:

1. Think of an Simple Story, with an Feel-Good Outcome:

Topics of realities that people relate to and maybe not stop to think of. Tiny things in everyday life and then expanding the story from there.

2. Music Film Composers. (Because music makes you FEEL GWOOOOD. and this film will make YOU feel good. Without Manipulating the audience. This will be under my BUDGET to pay for rights etc. (Professionalism. *COUGH *COUGH sorry, fire in pocket...) What Percussion?
OK, I feel like I need to justify why I have put Music first rather then putting this under the Post Production Category. The reason is that when I do watch films I half rely on the Sound of Ambience and music to help me understand the character's being and the atmosphere. Believe me on this one and I promise you I will not overdose you on music rather then visual. But I may over-dose you on Experimental Sound. It will not be a Music Video.

The Little Seed.

Let me just get this out of the way, I'm slightly (just slightly) overwhelmed with the possibilities on ideas for my Final Project.
I want to make a film that stands out. A film that is unique from every aspect of Film.
The sound to be unique.
The Cinematography to be unique. The character's to be unusual
But the story to be kept simple.
YES, simple, simple, SIMPLE!
What genre am I going to take on?
Last night, it clicked. I want to make a simple (Here I go saying this again and you will keep you reading this fine Save - your arse - and - film budget - or -remortgage - your - house - if - not - word.) Simplicity with a Feel good-outcome, I want my audience to smile and feel good at the end of my film.
But I have a little problem... I want to shoot it on a 35mm. Oh Shit...
